5.0 out of 5 starsThe BEST doorbell camera by a landslide! 😍😍😍
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 16 December 2022
After suffering a nightmare of a year with a different brand of camera doorbell, I gave up and invested in this one for the front door.

THIS has everything you could dream of! The motion sensor is sensible, so unlike the other brand I had, this one doesn't go off all night long cause it spots a blooming fox!

This works seamlessly with Alexa, and once you've got the hang of the settings, you'll soon find that you can have Alexa Show you the doorbell cam live feed, while the doorbell tells your visitors you'll be with them shortly. Which is perfect if you have someone come to the door late at night and you prefer to see them through the Alexa Show BEFORE answering the door, without them leaving cause they think you're not home 😊

Next, there's the absolutely superb camera, night vision and two-way audio! There is a very bright street light at the end of my garden and despite this, the night vision can still show individual blades of grass and each stone in the roughcast wall? That is the kind of details you should expect from a security camera not a doorbell so I am jumping for joy about the camera quality, during the day light the camera is second to none too which makes me feel safe 24/7. You can see for yourself from my pics 🙂

The audio is crystal clear, so much so that it I could hear a smoke detector going off in one of the houses at the other end of the street, when I went onto live view so I have zero complaints there! 😂

As for the recording length? My previous doorbell brand only recorded 30 seconds max, which was useless on both occasions when I actually needed about a minute. This wee beauty records 2 minutes which is fantastic for if someone dodgy comes to your door, and given the amount of scammers who crawl out of the woodwork during a cost of living crisis, having a device like this wee gem works as a deterrent AND records the ones who chance their luck!

This is also great for battery life, easy to charge when it's running low on power and wireless, so once it's connected to the WiFi and up, it's good to go for a decent amount of time! Mine was connected and installed in under 3 minutes, (that includes drilling the pilot holes) and has had a constant connection to the wi-fi signal ever since! To give you a comparison, the other doorbell cam this has replaced took 4 hours to try to connect to their own WiFi network, continuously going round in circles trying to connect then disconnecting after I had to change the batteries one time. But this device was seemless, and practically set itself up for me.

When this detects motion, I have it set to record the video and it tells all the Alexa's in the house that someone is at the front door, so even if I'm in the kitchen with the washing machine going, I don't need to worry that I've missed someone at the door.

That was my first one of these! I loved it so much I bought another one for the babies nursery as she's just went into her toddler bed and it's set up to alert me when she gets up out of bed. She's only one and a half, so having the motion sensor activate as soon as she's up and about is worth every penny cause anything can happen in a very short space of time with wee ones that young! The motion sensor in the nursery doorbell cam is phenomenal! She can toss and turn though the night, and it will do nothing, but as soon as her feet start dangling of her wee bed, the motion detector kicks in and tells my bedroom Alexa that the baby is up! I have the nursery doorbell cam set up to turn her nursery light on, my room lamp on, and the living room lights on when motion is detected in her room. I also have the "wait" feature set in the Alexa app so that the motion sensor doesn't put the nursery light on when I'm putting her to bed at night which is an awesome little known feature!

I also have the nursery doorbell cam send a live feed to my bedroom Alexa so I can see her as soon as the motion detector goes off in the morning, enabling me to reassure her through the speaker that mummy will be there in a wee minute so she knows she not all alone.

As you can see from my photos, the camera can see the details on her radiator and her chair in the nursery in the pitch black! She has a proper blackout blind, with blackout fabric behind it, and the hall light was off when I took this photo, so there was ZERO light getting into her room! Despite this, the level of detail in this doorbell camera is the best quality I've found in a night vision camera. It even picks up on the difference in shade on her velvet chair as you can see from my picture. It is so crystal clear that I can see if her eyes are open or closed which is priceless. Also, the audio is so clear that when her wee baby snores start, it picks up the sound perfectly enough that Alexa can the stop playing her soothing bedtime music, cause the doorbell detected she was asleep 😍

This is exactly what I need from my devices! Peace of mind, quality, security and convenience and this wee doorbell has all of those in bucket-loads! So much so, that I've just purchased a third one for the back door/garden now too 😂

All in all, if you are looking for a doorbell camera THIS is definitely the one to get!☺️

3.0 out of 5 starsIt's okay...battery life awful and delay on the notifications
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 5 February 2023
Moved to a house Sept 2022 that didn't have any doorbell and this was on offer so thought I'd go for it. Its good but it's not amazing...I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it without making clear a few points:
1. Battery life is terrible...I'm now having to charge it once a week but what makes it more annoying is it takes AGES to actually start charging. I assume cause it's cold but it needs to sit overnight wrapped in a blanket before it'll start charging. Granted I'm in Scotland and it's cold (it was unusable for about 2 days when it was super cold) but now it's 5°C+ I'd expect it to be better.
2. The delay between motion/a press of the ring and a notification either on Alexa or my phone is just a bit too long - by the time I get it and head to the door, sometimes the person is ready to leave (my doorbell is literally 3m from my router). Also, using Alexa as the chime requires her to be going "there's someone at the front door" which is ANNOYING, I just want a wee ding done noise.
Positives:
1. Good picture quality
2. Relatively easy to set up
Overall, it's OK. I won't be getting rid of it but if this one breaks, I won't be buying a new one.

I was intially concerned that i would have the same issues as i have read many times before about poor performance and laggy response due to it being on the battery and not wired. But i have to say im very impressed, once i had configured the motion zones accordingly i very rarely get a false positive and so far i've not an issue with the time between button press on the phone and the alert being sent to my phone, i would state that one of my WiFi AP's is very close the doorbell which could be why i have had a solid experience so far, picture quality is also very good and overall was easy to configure and install. Highly recommend.

I have had this installed since June 2022 and cannot praise it enough - although I have added the solar panel to get around any charging issues. The lowest my battery level has been, with the solar panel, is 68%. Highest is 92%.

Very easy to install and works great with my Echo 5. I also like how you can access via the internet as well as your phone.

It does occassionally pick up the neighbours cat, but not too often, so it is something which I can put up with.

Night mode is very clear and daytime recordings are excellent.

Highly recommend.

I bought this to replace the existing front doorbell and connected it to existing, live electrical wiring but it did not work. Therefore, I used it in rechargeable battery mode instead. It's easy to set up, works well and holds its charge for a good amount of time. The area of coverage is easily adjusted to suit individual requirements, and it is sensitive to any motion within that area, which provides a reassuring level of security, although the camera video is not particularly clear. Event history recording is free for one month only. Thereafter you must pay a monthly fee to continue. I have had no issues with getting and maintaining a Wi-Fi connection.

Got these for my elderly parents so they didn't have to go to the door to cold callers and strangers. Paired with a Echo view it works so well but the app isn't very intuitive and i needed to set it up for them. Being able to set exclusion zones to avoid nuisance notifications was great and there is some adjustment to ring tones and so on but you have to dig in to the menus

4.0 out of 5 stars For it to be an actual VIDEO doorbell, you need to pay monthly.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 11 March 2023
Colour Name: Satin NickelConfiguration: Device onlyVerified Purchase
They give you a free month, and then after that you have to subscribe and pay monthly, otherwise it will not let you use the camera AT ALL. Basically just an expensive doorbell with cheap sounding chimes. Oh and if you want it to ring (like a doorbell does) you also need to buy a chime seperately. Customer service will give you the run around, all capabilities happened to stop working the exact moment my free trial ended, and all they will say is you need to pay, or contact our technical support (which is impossible to get ahold of)

If you're willing to pay the video quality is decent, during the day, at night not so much. The main issue is by the time someone has rang your door, the delay due to "poor wifi signal" (My router is about 2 feet behind the main door) causes you to miss seeing whoever was there.

Purchased this to replace a traditional doorbell. Did have teething troubles but due to poor internet, now rectified. Like the idea of seeing who is at the door and being able to see persons outside. Have an extension bell inside which works well.
Dad has one so we can monitor comings and goings which is useful as we don’t live nearby. Only problem is when Dad has a visitor our dogs start barking! Need to have separate ring tones to differentiate between locations.
Good idea but needs some tweaking.
Would recommend.

Bought the combo with chimer, easy fit and set-up. Better once you switch off the external ringer (within app settings) that alerts EVERYONE in the area. Now just uses the plug in chimer to alert us, as well as on the mobiles.
Great zone feature that allows you to set the sensor range and area, to only give alerts within the parameters you set, rather than anything, anyone that's passing. Good battery so far, been in about 3wks and 80% battery remains.

This is the 1st ring item I have had it works great apart from having to move my router closer to the door but seems to work great now the motion sensor is good and you can change the area the only 1 thing I would fault it for us the bottom screw locations they are virtually impossible to see to get out when it needs charging you can see that I have only put 1 screw in for that reason and if it falls out you are really gonna struggle to find it but ring do give you 1 extra screw in the pack but I would definitely recommend a ring doorbell I used to have a intercom but this way I can view and answer the door from anywhere so five stars from me and if you have a Alexa you won't need to buy the chime as the Alexa tells you when there is someone at the door I use a Alexa show so that when someone rings the bell it lets you view it
