I've had door sensors before with previous alarm systems, generally they are quite tricky/fussy about placement but I found these actually work while being quite far apart & the size of them must be half that of my previous alarm system, setup is super easy as well just scan the QR Code / press the button on the sensor and let the Ring app add it to the system.

Once it's all setup, I love just how quickly the Ring system notifies me of doors opening/closing it really couldn't be any faster, and being able to check on the App just to see if a doors been left open etc is brilliant too its the kind of thing I've been wanting for years.

Bought these to get a notification on when the doors open. Unknown to me, I had to buy the full ring system to link them up so an expensive buy…..but now I have it all set up it is worth it.

I absolutely love my Ring alarm, and have been slowly building up the army of detectors I have on my system as I like to keep my home security tight and up to date. These door/window sensors are so easy to add to the system its crazy. Just fire up the app -> add a device -> scan qr code and pull the battery tab. Its added, configured and firmware updated in seconds, then all youve gotta do it give it a name and tell the app where it is and if its a door or a window, and peel off the stick back and attach it. Once its on, its going nowhere either. Brilliant, no faffing around with screwdrivers, drill and all that malarkey, its literally done in minutes. The detectors have a massive range of 70 meters on their own, and you can even use a Ring Alarm range extender if you need to aswell to make this even further. The batteries last so long on these its untold. Im very happy with these and will be buying the outdoor version for my shed at some point. Great job Ring, as per usual.

Just stick them on the door and the door frame. One issue I had was that the PVC doors we use nowadays can have a big gap from the surface of the door to the door frame i.e. more than an inch. I just about found a spot where I got it to work without having to put anything 'behind' the magnet to push it closer to the other contact.

I’ve bought these for two UPVC doors as my back UPVC door was attempted in broad daylight 11:00am UK time lucky for me it was locked, i bought these for reassurance and to be notified when the door is attempted again.

it’s not clear in the description that an alarm key pad and hub is needed, I’ve now bought a 5 piece kit for them to connect to, I thought because I have the Ring cameras they would connect via them and alert me, but clearly not.

I didn't want a whole ring system with the could requirements, these pair perfectly with my Z-Wave stick (Aeotec Gen 5) and work perfectly in home assistant and Node-Red.

They're very responsive and really small so they shouldn't cause any issue with fitting.

To pair I used ZWaveJS2MQTT, start pairing process on ZWaveJS2MQTT, pull the battery tab out, press the button for about 5 seconds (this might be optional), it'll be detected, click next on the page with the pre-ticked checkbox, next enter the key from the side of the device in the text box when it's asked for and done, you'll have a security paired sensor.

If you skip the key code step without entering the key, they'll pair without security, hold the button for 20+ second to reset them and try again.
