4.0 out of 5 starsVery easy to install!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 3 April 2023
Very early days and I will add to this once the system has been in use for a bit of time.
Incredibly easy to install. I've fitted many variations of cctv before and needed a good, quick installation, so chose this kit. Not disappointed at all!
I got everything working properly on the kitchen table in 5 minutes before fitting the cameras. This makes life easier, as you know it's all going to work!
Very simple and easy camera mounting system. Time will tell if it stays exactly where it was when you tighten it up. Any bumps to the camera will move it, so that is a minor weakness.
Anyway, both cameras mounted and up and running without fuss.
There's no stupid ongoing monthly payment too! Most camera manufacturers stitch you up for ongoing data storage charges as well as the purchase price. Not so with Eufy! Full marks for that. You can, however, pay to have data storage, but you don't "have" to if you don't want to, as the system comes with a mini data server. Someone will always argue "What if it gets stolen?"... Ok, if that worries you, take the optional offsite storage. At least you can choose with Eufy.
Minor-ish problem. You can exclude areas from the movement detection (Activity Zones), but, as has been widely reported, this doesn't work at all. Keep this in mind.
The iPhone app is pretty flawless and the cameras, once set up, send notifications as expected.
I've added a Eufy solar panel to each camera, just to be sure of continuity due to power.
It's worked for 24 hours and only alerted me to people, not cats and birds etc.
If it keeps going like this, I'll add the final star, which I reserved for that purpose.
So far - a very good purchase!

2.0 out of 5 starsI really wanted to like this product BUT ......
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 24 May 2023
The first two eufyCam 2C Pro 2-Cam Kit Security Camera sets that I bought were returned as they were faulty. But before then, I had shared my extensive research into the subject of security cameras with a friend and based on my research findings, he bought a Eufy 3 camera kit and was delighted with it so I decided to give it one more try and I bought a third set.

This third set actually worked ....... mostly!!

It worked well enough for the first few weeks to convince me to buy a third camera to go with the two supplied in the original kit.

When it is working, I am very pleased with the equipment, it is beautifully made and the picture quality is adequate for my purposes BUT it doesn't operate all the time and frequently I find that the original two cameras in particular are offline and occasionally, the third camera. None of the Eufy recommended remedies makes any difference and then suddenly, the cameras will come back on line all by themselves and operate for a few days and then for no good reason, they go offline again and so it goes on.

Sometimes just one camera goes offline, sometimes two but rarely do all three go offline at the same time but that's not the point, I need them ALL to be working or I don't have the security coverage that I wanted in the first place! For such a nicely made and presented piece of kit, this is very disappointing indeed and I have no confidence in the equipment at all now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to setup
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 14 April 2023
Style Name: 2-Camera KitVerified Purchase
First off I’m glad I purchased the Eufy cameras, there’s been a lot of negative comments regarding how much data Eufy do or don’t keep on the internet and I nearly didn’t buy them.

I found them easy to setup and worked as promised with the exception of the 180 day battery life, one of the cameras needed charging after a week, but I must point out that I do have them connected to Apple HomeKit and use Secure Video which was the main reasons for purchasing them in the first place, and they do say up front that battery life will rundown quicker if they are set up in this way. Not to worry, I purchased their Solar panel separately which has sorted out the problem.

I would also like to point out that these cameras if connected to HomeKit will only record at 1080p and not 2k, this is not the fault of Eufy but to do with Apple, even so the cameras still produce a clear picture especially at night, and being able to view the footage in colour is a welcomed bonus, something which my other cameras from Netatmo and Ring couldn’t do.

Bottom line, I would recommend these cameras and I plan to purchase further cameras once my Ring subscription expires later in the year. Just in case you aren’t aware Eufy like Netatmo don’t charge subscriptions, unlike Ring which currently charge £80 a year if you have more than one camera.

4.0 out of 5 stars A solid security system (UPDATED)

UPDATE

So, I've had this system just over a month, and I thought I'd update this review to reflect my current views.

To be honest, most of what I said originally still stands for me - this is a good system but not perfect. during usage I've noticed the following:

-Battery appears to be as good as promised, I've lost one notch of the four on my front camera, and my driveway camera is still showing as full charge
-I haven't noticed any improvement on the delayed start, meaning that you do not get all movement captured. For example, if I exit via my back door and walk to my garage, the camera should capture me as soon as I step out of my house, but I'm often a few feet towards the garage before it starts to record
-I still notice that recordings stutter (although not a huge amount and this could be due to my broadband)
-The two way communication is great, in fact, we were out once when our postman tried to deliver a package, I had a nice conversation with him via the front camera, asking him to leave the package on my drive behind our bins (which he did) I also didn't feel the need to rush home as the other camera was keeping a watchful eye on it
-We've had some bad weather (high winds and heavy rain) and this hasn't affected the cameras at all - although I have also purchased covers (which I've also reviewed) so this may be the reason

ORIGINAL REVIEW

I conducted a lot of research before I decided to purchase this camera bundle, and my findings made me realise that no matter what system I looked at, there were always a large number of positive reviews with just enough really negative reviews to make me doubt whether I should proceed or not. It got to the point where I was going to give up, however, something about eufy appealed to me, so I took a chance.

To be honest, I’ve only owned the camera for two days, so it’s impossible for me to give a completely balanced review at this point, however, I will provide my initial thoughts and then revisit in a month or so to update.

Style:
Part of my reason for picking eufy, is I do find they make very attractive equipment - the design of the cameras is effortlessly stylish and even the packaging they came in (which is clearly Apple inspired) feels very premium.

Set-up:
This part really is easy, and it’s drawn in crayon within the eufy manual. There really is no getting it wrong, i.e. connect the ethernet between the base unit and your router; plug-in and switch on; download the eufy app and follow the instructions. Similarly, installing the cameras to an external wall was very easy (and I’m by no means a DIY expert). You’re supplied with a template that shows where to drill the holes and extra Rawlplugs and screws (just in case you mess up). I especially liked that it told me what size drill bit I should use.

Functionality:
Here is the part I will have to revisit in my update, however, my first impressions are really positive. The app is great, filled with lots of features to let you customise how you want the cameras to behave, and the picture quality from the cameras themselves is really good (which you’d expect with 2k). That being said, I do feel that an intruder could still be difficult to identify unless they come really close and look directly into the lens - it would have been good to have the ability to zoom in and retain crystal clear imagery, however, when I pinch to zoom on my iPhone things do get a little blocky. The quality is of course better when I transfer it over to my Mac, but it’s not perfect.

I do really like that you can set it up to just capture human movement or all movement. I have the camera that monitors my drive/garage to just capture people, whereas the camera that covers the front of my house is set to capture everything, so records vehicles as well. The downside is that the recording and notification system are not instantaneous - don’t get me wrong, it’s pretty fast, but I can easily walk onto my drive and get a few feet before it’ll start recording. This isn’t a dealbreaker for me, but a faster response could make all the difference in some scenarios. I haven’t tried the two-way communication yet (although no doubt I’ll soon be freaking the neighbours kids out when I see them on my driveway!) but I have noted that the sound quality from the speakers is quite good when listening.

Should you buy it:
Well, it all depends on your need. If you want a state of the art system that will capture and record every movement and provide detailed evidence should you be unfortunate enough to fall victim to criminal activity, then this may not be the system for you. If, like me, you’re just after a deterrent and some peace of mind when away from the home, then you can’t really go wrong with this package.

Summary:

I would currently split the advantages and disadvantages as follows:

Advantages:
-Easy to install, set-up and use
-Great quality picture (even at night) and lots of features to customise how you want each camera to work
-Easy to expand with additional cameras or the eufy doorbell
-No monthly or annual fees
-Great battery life (although I won’t know how true the 180 day claim is yet)
-Weatherproof

Disadvantages:
-Expected slightly better quality from the image given it’s 2k
-Sometimes stutters on recordings (this could be due to my internet speed though)
-Doesn’t capture movement instantly

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good overall
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 31 December 2022
Style Name: 2-Camera KitVerified Purchase
So, I bought these 5 months ago to sit above access to our and a neighbours garage. Because this access crosses over a public pavement the cameras naturally have to capture movement along this pavement. Our houses front onto this pavement also.
Mounting and installing the cameras was easy. Navigating round the various set up options was also quite easy.
The storage unit sits in our living room and as long as you have a good wifi signal to the cameras (ours are about max 10m from our wifi hub) function perfectly.
When looking at purchasing a security camera system, my main concerns were the reaction time and obviously picture quality. With this system the picture quality is pretty good (can't show you any footage because of data protection), but good enough to identify people. The reaction time is ok. Because the area covered is several metres down the pavement, it tends to start recording when the object is about 5m away which works for us. Sometimes it records car movement even though I set it to human motion only.
What I did have to do is buy separate wire cages for about £30 to house the cameras in because I guess it would be possible for someone to have a swipe at them even though they are mounted 4m above the pavement level. I had to cut a section of the cages out so as not to obscure the image.
There is the daily task of deleting footage otherwise you can use up space on the storage unit. You do not need to subscribe to any cloud storage which is good.
If you want to you can get real time footage from anywhere straight from your phone, otherwise we rely on a schedule which is easily set up within the app.
Battery life before recharging was impressive at about 4 months. Charging took about 4/5 hours.
For us because we have good street lighting I can save battery life by turning off the cameras' lights.
When the cameras are activated a red light flashes so I guess this acts as a deterrent in itself. This does not seem to be an option.
So to summarise, I give it 4 stars because as with all these systems reaction time and picture quality can never be good enough but we have not had any 'incidences' since installing them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value wireless camera set up
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 6 November 2022
Style Name: 2-Camera KitVerified Purchase
Eufy 2C 2camera Pro system.
This purchase consisted of a hub and two cameras although you can add additional cameras if desired for approx £100-£130 each (Nov 22).
Set up to get the cameras talking to the hub was pretty straightforward. The instructions for the app and creating/sharing an account didn’t feel so intuitive although you can search on line for more detail. Overall though it was reasonably easy to understand after a bit of use.
The reason why I haven’t marked the product as a 5 is due to night detection on infra red not being as brilliant in very low light. I managed to walk right past camera and an alert was not triggered (although WiFi might have dropped out at same time). However once I adjusted the angle of the camera it picked me up quicker on entering the field of vision. Personally It feels the spot light (which will reduce battery life quicker compared to infra red only) feels the better way to go for clarity of images. Cameras required charging for approx 4 hours prior to use - batteries pre-installed and its claimed should last several moths without recharging dependent entirely on activity.
Built in storage of 16Gb should provide approx 30 days depending on level of cameras/triggers. No way to add more local storage but can download individual clips to external storage such as phone or sign up for AWS cloud service.
Deleting videos saved by system easy to delete once familiar with app.
Speed of notification of camera being triggered was instantaneous while being within wi-fi range.
Fitting the brackets (supplied with screws and plugs) and attaching the cameras was very easy.
Overall nice set of kit so far.
Only criticism is the human recognition isn’t brilliant we get quite a few false alerts for cats or strong wind blowing shrubs which sets the camera off. Adjusting sensitivity helps but doesn’t eradicate problem.

On the positive, great kit, well made, set up easy, picture looks great, seems to work well as expected. Linked with google asssitant hub easily. Don't know about long term, battery or charging yet.

On the installation part, just two niggles, the supplied screws are rubbish and the camera mount while sturdy only moves about 45°.

Screws: I've shredded two lots of screws mounting the doorbell into wood with pre drilled holes! I now have the hassle of wanting to insert the angle plate and therefore needing to get these out. I would bin the supplied screws and use your own reliable ones! Seems a bit cheap in the grand scheme of things!

I want to fit each camera on a wall and look along that wall. The supplied mounts don't allow this much adjustment, not even with just a cut out notch or anything. I've ordered a third party mount which allows 90° in all directions.

4.0 out of 5 stars It might be the best wireless option April 2022
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 28 April 2022
Style Name: 2-Camera KitVerified Purchase
The good: it can be set to only react to humans (although it's not always but most of the time accurate); image quality is quite good, the interface of the app is easy to understand and use. Batteries are rechargable and last long enough that you don't need to be up and down the ladder every month or two (at least in my case) to recharge the cameras. I would include here all the features of the cameras but it would take to long.

The bad: Reaction time - this is in the bad section even though I believe it's one of the fastest reaction times one can get these days. It's in the bad section because I can not feel completely confident that the system will catch the needed motion every time someone is passing through the field of view. Again, from what I read, it's still one of the fastest systems on the market right now.

I spent a lot of time reading reviews before buying this set. The main concern was the reaction time from detecting the motion until it actually started recording video. This is also the only reason why I am only giving it 4 out of 5 stars. From the reviews I read, I believe it's probably the quickest reaction time available right now (April 2022) for wireless CCTV that is not recording continuously. It's still slow enough to sometimes miss the detected human. The delay is sometimes a bit over sometimes a bit under a second. That is still slow enough for a person walking fast through the field of view of the camera to be missed completely, especially if the person is very close to the camera as he/she can exit the field of view faster. As long as the recording doesn't happen on the camera to then send the already recorded/buffered video as fast as possible once the wireless connection is reactivated so that it gets saved somewhere in the house or the cloud, as long as that process doesn't get integrated in the actual physical camera, then (in my non-professional opinion) I do not believe anyone can expect any faster reaction time then these Eufy pro wi-fi cameras are offering.

I like how easy the system is managed over the internet and all the other features. This is the only system I have personally used until now and I decided on buying this one after extensive reading on the internet about quite a few other ones as well.
