How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings, help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

4.0 out of 5 starsAnnoyed it was reduced by quite a margin less than a month later, but overall happy-ish...
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 4 February 2023
It's a good product, well packaged, very easy to set-up, the units look very cute and discreet, and works perfectly downstairs even through two external walls and then some, but the limited functionality and options available are very disappointing.

Simple, expected at this price options (like port forwarding) have been traded in for ease of set-up and no-thought use. Plus, when upstairs, my laptop keeps trying to connect to the base unit (which is too far away, so while it says I'm connected I lose internet), rather than the extender less than three metres away in the next bedroom (through an ash wall, not brick).

To correct I've had to turn off my WIFI, turn it back on, and I'm then good for a minute or two, maybe a bit longer, but then the mesh forces my laptop to connect back to the base unit, which while it shows a perfect signal on my device, I lose internet. I've now had to move the extender to sit on my desk, using up my last spare electrical socket, but at least it is finally staying connected with it. Just one option in the settings to select which unit you'd want to always connect to would have resolved this.

One last thing, Amazon dropped the price considerably a month later. I'm fairly happy, but also very disappointed. A complicated four stars. I would have had three if not for the speed of the set-up and downstairs reliability.

3.0 out of 5 starsNot what I thought

I brought this as I have virgin media hub3 and 350 broadband speed. I can get this in the front off the house where the hub is upstairs outside wall. I set the hub and the extender the upstairs one in the same place and the other at the rear of the house. Good wi fi speed. However, my car needs wi fi to update its software. Approx 15 ft from the outside wall to the cars header unit. They gave me no better speeds there than the virgin hub. Our walls our modern outer brick and inner breeze block. So not worth it as it doesn’t solve my problem. Ok inside the house though!

5.0 out of 5 stars Far better than built-in WiFi

I picked up one of these with a John Lewis voucher not thinking I’d actually need it given Virgin finally added support for their Hub4 to the VM Connect app, but after continuing to experience dead zones in my 2-bedroom flat no matter how much I repositioned or tuned the router I finally gave in. If only I’d done so months before…

This mesh system is very quick to setup and unlike my Hub4 WiFi my Apple devices play nice with it. I have two HomePod minis in my lounge and two in my bedroom and regularly had ky stereo pairings drop or lose connection even when in the sane room as my Hub4. I even went so far as to try separating the 2.4 and 5GHz bands into separate networks, so I thought it was the HomePods, but I’ve been running a single combined network with the Eero 6 for months and the only time I reset my HomePods was when they added a software update.

The iOS app is great and makes setup a breeze; especially when compared to the substandard configuration menus a lot of kit from ISPs are saddled with. Being able to label and categorise devices on your network makes it easier to tell what’s running and how many there are. I added an extender to make sure signal was good for my kid’s room and that was also very easy. No issues with iPhones or iPads moving from lounge to bedroom - just like you’d want from a mesh setup.

If you’re at all unsatisfied with your home WiFi, this is a low-price way to sort things. I still use my VM Hub4; just plugged the Eero into one Ethernet port and went into the admin menu on the hub and turned off its WiFi as I have my AppleTV, PS5 and Mac on the other three ports. Happiness!

I just changed my broadband supplier. I was supplied with an Eero router which had less reach around the house, so I went on to Amazon to see if I can get a booster, and found that Amazon Eero also have booster which I ordered but was not going to be delivered before May 2023, but arrived 2 weeks later. There is now a strong signal all around the home which is great! The booster is about half the size of the router, so does not take up much space.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gave us extra strength Wi-Fi in garden room.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 12 January 2023
Configuration: Extender (up to 140 m²)Verified Purchase
We have TalkTalk eevo 150 broadband in the house via full fibre recently installed in the area.
We get full 150gbs inside the house both downstairs and upstairs. Recently built a Sips garden room at the bottom of the garden for our son to play Xbox etc with his friends, so needed broadband there for him.
Bought this Mesh eevo 6 hoping it would increase the very weak Wi-Fi in there for him. The garden room is over 30 meters from the house/router, but surprisingly it gives him well over 120Gbs in the garden room.
Easy to setup via the Eevo app on my iPhone. Installed a new 65 inch Lg Oled G2 and a Pioneer SoundSlayer Atmos Soundbar and the system works perfectly.
He gets all his favourites like YouTube etc via Wi-Fi and his Xbox series X gets great low ping (10 or less) so he can play games with his friends anywhere in the world at high speeds.
Personally I didn’t think it would work being so far from the main router and with several brick walls for signals to get through, but it does.
Well worth the money. 🤗👍

4.0 out of 5 stars Extends the range of your WiFi signal.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 2 February 2023

The Eero Pro 6E was supplied by my new full fibre FTTP installer. It is a ‘mesh’ router, which means you can extend the WiFi range with these satellite extenders. Reading professional reviews, it is no the best system, nor the worst. In the same room as the router the WiFi signal is excellent - 150Mb/s at the router and the same at the wireless device (an I-Pad); but it fades as you move away: thick walls derogate the signal, and 2 rooms away there was no signal.

The extender arrived today. It is easy to instal, BUT ignore the instructions in the box (useless) and look on the net. I installed it 1 room away, and now 2 rooms away I have a 40Mb/s signal.

I found the price expensive for an extender, but it is necessary.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 star finally
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 17 February 2023

I suppose I have to give EERO 6 five stars. We started with the usual starter kit of three and then added a fourth. There seemed to be quite a lot of teething problems getting the fourth to integrate with the main system and a couple of times it has been necessary to reprogram one or more of the units: the app for this works well enough I suppose but I found it fiddly and not that easy to use. However, all that is in the past now and the whole system has been running seamlessly for a good part of a year. So five stars for that. BTW, the EERO mesh system is in another league compared to the mains plug-in range extenders I was using before, which are pretty hopeless over a biggish area with thick walls.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast Wi-Fi all over the house!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 22 January 2023

I am with Virgin Media, their stupid fast 500mb package. I was getting signal in the living room, otherwise patchy everywhere else. Got the Eero 6 mesh system with two extenders as a last hope of using my spare room as an office. It worked beautifully.

I now get great Wi-Fi strength in every room, even in the outside utility room. I have a lot of smart devices in every room, the signal now seems less conjested and great video conference level signal even in upstairs rooms furthest from the box.

Very quick to set up, the only trouble I had was pairing the router to the internet via my phone. This took quite a few attempts, but setting up the extenders took seconds, as did changing the username and password to match my virgin router.

I especially like this system as all devices use the same credentials (I have turned my virgin box into modem mode) so all my devices automatically connect and they aren’t flicking between domain names looking for the best signal like with other systems I’ve tried.

Definitely a great buy!

I have just upgraded from copper to fibre in my home and was given an Eero router by my new supplier. Unfortunately my house is old (1850) and has very thick walls.
I found I had a weak Wi-Fi spot in one part of the house.
I bought this and the weak spot is no more.
