4.0 out of 5 starsconnectivity Issues

I I bought this after reading Which reviews and Amazon reviews, it wasn't cheap but seemed to be worth the money to get better quality. I installed it using the mains adaptor provided with it. I bought an angle bracket separately to get the best angle for the camera, shame Ring don't provide it with the doorbell pack.
The installation was OK but as we have a porch I had to drill through a door frame then exit via the side of a brick wall. The set up via the app should have been straightforward but it took a few attempts to get the Ring wifi network to connect. Eventually it was set up and working. I connected my wife's phone as well and linked the doorbell to 2 Alexa speakers, it all worked, for about 4 hours! Then it disconnected. I had had enough by then. The following day I tried to reconnect it. I spent over 3 hours trying everything, sometimes it found the wifi network but would not connect, sometimes it found nothing, I read the troubleshooting advice, powered the router up and down and tried many of the suggestions, to no avail.
I found some suggestion ridiculous, re-siting the router nearer the doorbell, impractical and should be unnecessary. I had a strong wifi signa on my phone outside the house and all the other wireless devices work fine in the house with a strong signal. A suggestion to donwgrade the router speed from 5.0 ghz to 2.5ghz is ridiculous, why would you want all your other devices working at a slower speed to accommodate a doorbell! I tried the Ring online help but it just kept referring me to other articles.
I feared if I ever got it working again it would regularly crash and cause problems. I uninstalled the bell and have returned it. I now have holes in my door frame and brickwork and am out of pocket by £15 for a bracket which is of no use to me. A frustrating and disappointing experience!
Update:
After looking for alternatives and more research I bought the Ring 3 doorbell which has enhanced Wifi and support for 5.0 ghz as well as 2.4ghz. I installed this along with a WiFi range extender. It worked first time and has been fine since. I would recommend the model 3 over the 2, albeit more expensive. It is a shame Ring don't offer more support on selecting the best product for your situation. I have upgraded my rating from 2 to 4 stars. It would have been 5 without this experience.
