much smaller than I expected

I bought this as part of a christmas present, I knew it would be small but I wasn't quite prepared for how small it was... in the end as part of a larger gift it didn't really matter but we did have a giggle when I opened the box. Scent is lovely and long lasting as always with geniune Yankee Candle products. I have included a photo of my hand holding the candle so you can have an idea of size.. my hand is an average sized 35 year old woman's hand, if it helps.

Ok so I'm a big fan of Yankee candles, I always have one lit because they last a long time and the scents are nice and strong and this one is no exception, it smells amazing, less like cinnamon and more like anise in my opinion, but both are lovely scents.

The only issue I've noticed with this candle is that it tunnels, no matter what I do.
I use a Yankee Candle Illuma-Lid to not only help prevent drafts but also to help the wax pool evenly across the surface...but this candle just won't...maybe it's just this batch? I don't know but that's how my experience with this specific candle has been.

I do recommend this candle because although it tunnels it's a large tunnel so there isn't a huge amount of wax left on the sides...but I'd prefer if there was none so I get my moneys worth. Maybe you'll have better luck if/when you try this candle!

Caused my bedroom to go on fire

The candle came in perfect condition along with a smaller one I ordered. On the day I redeived it I trimmed the wick, as is recommended, lit it & placed it on the ottoman next to my bed. I noticed that even though I trimmed the wick down the flame was really tall compared to the other large Snowflake Cookie candles I've had previously. I lit the small one I received the same day & the flame on that was also still really tall after having trimmed the wick. The next day I lit the large candle next to my bed & went to do something elsewhere for 10-15 minutes, next thing I know my smoke alarms are going off. I went into my bedroom & a pillow on my bed was in flames & the top of my ottoman had melted. I attempted to put it out but the burning pillow filling had fallen onto the floor & melted some of the stuff lying there & the carpet underneath. I managed to get it extinguished by throwing water on it & stamping it out but I was so shaken by the whole experience. It could've easily gotten out of hand very quickly & luckily nothing that I really love was damaged.I burnt my fingertips but that's thankfully the only injury I got. I know that I shouldn't have left the candle unattended near fabrics, but to be honest I've done it so many times before that I never thought about it. I also definitely think the unusually tall flame contributed to the fire happening in the first place. I'm mot sure if the jar was fille tok much or there was am issue with the wick but the issue is one that's only happened with the 2 Yankee Candles I've bought from Amazon rather than other retailers so perhaps there's been some kind of manufacturing issue or something with their stock. I tried lighting the candle again but had to put it out after 2 minutes because it smelled like it was burning. I don't want to throw it out, because it feels wasteful, so I'm going to keep it around for the scent & I'll just keep it unlit. All of that to say, please be careful when using these if you have them but I'd avoid buying candles from here in future.

So I bought this candle for my daughter, it made her walls black wax which now will have to re paint her bedroom as can’t get the black smoke off around her room, she did not realise that as she was breathing it in it made her nostrils black? But yet you could not see the smoke? or set of the alarm. When I looked inside it it had black in the wax. I don’t think this is a Yankee candle and if it it needs a recall! room is ruined.

I've always had a positive experience with Yankee Candle products, however. When receiving this parcel the glass was smashed and I could hear glass rattling in the box. If I light this candle the wax will pour over the broken glass area on to my surface which is a fire hazard. My delivery personal was also concerned as he too could hear broken glass in the package.
