The camera itself is pretty sturdy and small great for placing on shelves or in my case loft stairs, it comes with about a 1.5m/2m cable so could be a little longer but still ok. It also can be wall mounted using the base which is great and it has lots of movement to adjust it.
The picture quality is ok until you zoom in to see finer details but at this price point I’d say you aren’t going to get much better and it works perfectly for watching the inside of your house or as a little added security measure with its motion detection which works very well. I use it to watch over dogs while I’m away which it’s perfect for and nice that I can also listen in on them or even talk through the camera.
The app is very user friendly and is better than some high end security apps that I use for my cctv system. You can set up lots of different things for security such as recording, geo location, link with other ring security devices etc but one down side is that the app has a optional subscription fee which pretty much is required to get the most out of it but if all you want is a camera to live view from anywhere then this is perfect and I haven’t had any problems doing this at all and has proved reliable.
Overall I’m pleased as its a very handy camera and works perfectly as a live view camera It would be nice to see a higher picture quality version as I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more for that. Also providing a little longer power cable would be nice but guess you could just buy one if you needed it. Would buy again.
