Answer:
Hi there, you can plug the ethernet cable from the modem or router to the back of the gateway eero, and from the second ethernet port of the gateway eero, run a second ethernet cable and plug it into the back of another eero. The first and second unit will continue to provide WiFi connectivity.

Yes. Yes it does.

I have fttp provided by Lothian broadband.

They have a modem that’s about 4 inches by 5 inches where the fibre comes in.

They then also supplied Me a wireless router that I plugged into the modem.

Eero replaces that’s wireless router box completely.

I just got my username and password from Lothian broadband and entered it into the eero app.

Told it I was using pppoe and it just fired up.

As to replacing the router, I'm afraid I couldn't tell you. It certainly can replace the routers for some ISPs but you'd need both the router to support your ISP and also the ISP to allow you to use other routers. I'd maybe ask TalkTalk if they permit it. see less

When setting up the device over Bluetooth via the app, it will initially not be set to use PPPoE, you must set this under Network Settings > ISP Settings, as the default option is DHCP which is for other networks such as Virgin Media.

The PPPoE credentials for BT are the same for everyone and can be found on Google. I also searched for Eero PPPoE and followed their documentation page. After entering the credentials to set up the device, it took 5-10 minutes to configure.

I’ve not had any issues after 2 weeks of use. see less

Answer:
Hello there, good question! While all eeros are compatible, it is not recommended to use eero 6+ and eero Pro 6E in a mixed node network containing older eero models. When adding a legacy eero model to a 6+/6E network, all nodes will be forced to run at 80MHz channel widths via 5GHz (whereas the newer models run at 160MHz).
