From the manufacturer

About Us
When the Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) was founded in 1939, the world was a very different place. There were no fully electronic computers. The only printers were industrial-sized printing presses. Palo Alto, California was composed mostly of fruit orchards. The internet was decades away from fruition.
The storied history of HP coincides with the development of home computing and the rise of Silicon Valley. HP’s innovations were instrumental in making home computers and printers more affordable for the average consumer, and their success inspired a wave of electronics companies to start-up in Santa Clara County, California. Everyone wanted to hang out in HP’s neck of the woods.

The print quality is great, and I’m sure if you’re printing single invoices or 2-3 page letters it’s great, but a large print run 30+ pages at a time will cause this machine to go into a meltdown.
I love it’s size. Unlike other people I had no issues with connectivity. I’m more than happy to use it with HP products (which it tracks by monitoring how many pages you’re printing and automatically sends you replacement ink) I rarely print, except for the occasional bingo ticket run, so I’m sure if I limit the size of the run in future, we’ll be fine.
For its price it’s a good little machine… (on day one, I’ve yet to see if it ages well) and I love its compact size, you can store it on a narrow shelf out of the way.
For the occasional use in a home office it’s perfect.
I contacted HP, and spoke to a technician in SERBIA on my mobile phone! I was on the phone for nearly
2 hours! Also had to try and set the printer up on my laptop which I had to give him remote control of.
We did manage to set it up in the end. Shame it doesn’t print in colour.
Now this is not a colour printer, it's a black and white laser jet printer. Printing is very fast compared to an inkjet, and the quality, to my eyes, is much better. But I am mostly printing text. The few times I have printed something with photos, the quality has been good.
Over all, for price, this is an amazing printer, if you print a lot of text, and deserves the full five stars.
I work from a home office (log cabin in the garden) and have all printers and my laptop connected via ethernet (not Wifi), this isn't a function of this printer which I wasn't 100% sure or worried about when purchasing as I was planning to keep it on my desk next to my laptop and connect via USB. Due to the *unique* way HP have created the set-up for this printer to work properly and connect to the PC, they HAVE to be set up on the same Wifi. You can't just connect via USB and go.
Now, I'm by no mean an expert with printers, but owning 4 printers with all variations of printing styles, inkjet, thermal, sublimation and this lovely toner printer :/ you'd understand why I'm so frustrated with this printer and wanting to throw it out the window. It seems to pick and choose when it wants to work, not always taking paper, throwing up errors or not print pages correctly.
If I didn't hate wasting money I would 100% be putting it in the bin and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I will keep persevering with it and maybe once I have moved house to have an office inside the house and everything working and connected via wifi it might magically work.
Waiting for your advice.
Thanks
